Kindaburra Early Learning Centre and Preschool provides high-quality childcare, long day care and preschool programs for children from birth to 6 years old in Matraville. Purpose Built in 1999 by long-term Owner/Director Patricia Wilschefski, we are proud to offer a warm, welcoming and nurturing environment for the whole family where children feel safe, supported and confident to learn, grow and thrive. Our long-serving and consistent team have educated and care for local families for more than 25 years!

Licensed for up to 105 children each day, our long day care centre operates from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM. We have a number of offerings available, starting from two-days a week to full-time care. We also offer extra casual days to accommodate families' diverse needs! We know that family life can be complex, and we are here to help manage the workload for families in our care

Play-Based Early Learning & Preschool Programs

At Kindaburra, we believe children learn best through play, exploration and meaningful relationships. Our play-based learning programs are inspired by the Early Years Learning Framework and are designed to support every stage of development through hands-on experiences, creativity, curiosity and discovery. Our high qualified and experienced team guide children of all ages to learn important social skills, personal responsibility, and care for the world around us

Children are grouped according to their age and developmental stage, allowing team members to provide individualised attention and learning opportunities that build confidence, independence and a lifelong love of learning.Our team work closely together to understand each child’s unique needs and strengths 

Preschool & School Readiness Programs

Our preschool and school readiness programs intentionally embed early literacy, numeracy, social and emotional development into everyday learning experiences, helping children develop the skills they need for a successful transition to school and beyond. Children are gently encouraged to try participating in letter and number recognition activities, simple handwriting and presenting to peers through ‘Show and tell.” We are proud to see our graduates move onto the next stage of schooling with confidence, friendship and a strong sense of self!

Through sensory play, creative arts, music, movement, outdoor exploration and collaborative learning, children are encouraged to express themselves, solve problems and build strong relationships with others. Our preschool graduates transition to primary school with the support of our qualified Early Childhood Teachers who guide the preschool program. NSW Start Strong subsidies are also available to preschool-aged children. Preschoolers also have the opportunity to participate in their 4 year old Health and Development Check and the Statewide Eyesight Preschoolers Screening program in the year before school at Kindaburra

Our qualified and passionate educators are committed to continuous professional development and delivering the highest standard of early childhood education and care. Team member are encouraged to gain highest possible qualification they are interested in, and Kindaburra has supported team members to progress from trainees, Certificate III, Diploma through to qualified Early Childhood Teachers. Kindaburra plays an active role in the training community, frequently taking on board students on placement to support the development of best practice in the field
